Claire Coleman Schweiker was the original “Miss Claire,” hostess of the children’s television staple, Romper Room. She is the wife of four-term U.S. Congressman and two-term Senator Richard Schultz Schweiker. A devoted civic leader, Mrs. Schweiker has served on the National Board of the Medical College of Philadelphia, as Director of the United Cerebral Palsy National Women’s Committee, and as Co-chairman of the Eastern Pennsylvania Christmas Seal Drive. She has been the recipient of the Temple University General Alumni Association’s Certificate of Honor, the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority Distinguished Service Award and the Chapel of Four Chaplains – Philadelphia’s Legion of Honor Bronze Medallion.
