Paul Spindler draws on a rich and varied career in communications and marketing. His experience spans corporate communications, public affairs, public relations, marketing communications, crisis management, and print and broadcast journalism. Spindler has served as Executive Vice President of GCI Group and Manning, Selvage & Lee, two international public relations firms. He has counseled major corporations in positioning, product marketing, investor relations, crisis management and government relations, including IBM, Microsoft, Merck, Amgen, Nissan, Hyundai, Tyco, and Catalina Marketing.
Prior to entering the consulting field, he was Director of Public Affairs at Litton Industries and Director of Corporate Communications at International Industries, both based in Beverly Hills, California. Earlier Spindler served on the editorial staffs of the San Francisco Examiner and the Akron Beacon Journal. Subsequently he was Managing Editor of the San Leandro Morning News (Calif.) and Editor and Publisher of the Santa Clara Daily Journal (Calif.). He previously was a News Director for the Armed Forces Radio Network. For a two-year period he served on the faculty of the University of Santa Clara, teaching courses in news writing and news editing.
A native of Chicago, Spindler graduated from Temple University in 1952 with a B.A. in journalism. He serves on the Board of Directors of Phoenix Houses of California and the Partnership scholars and is a member of the Board of Visitors of Temple’s School of Communications and Theater. Spindler and his wife, Gail, live in Los Angeles.
