Based in New York City, Julia Nietsch is the senior director of communications for Bravo and Oxygen Media. In her role, Julia oversees the communications strategy for a variety of network programming including, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Imposters,” as well as many of the networks’ corporate and digital initiatives. Previously, she was director of communications. In 2012 she began at Bravo as a manager of communications and, in 2013, she added Oxygen Media to her purview, having launched series such as “Strut” from Executive Producer Whoopi Goldberg and recently has been instrumental in the channel’s rebrand to a full-time crime destination.
Nietsch has worked in the NBCUniversal family for nine years, working in the Corporate Communications division prior to joining Bravo. She originally joined the company as part of General Electric’s Communications Leadership Development Program (CLDP) where she completed rotations in the public relations departments within NBCUniversal Corporate Communications, Bravo Media and NBC Sports & Olympics.
Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication from Temple University, with a minor in Business. She recently completed her MBA at Fordham University with concentrations in marketing and management. Passionate about mentoring young professionals, Julia participates in NBCU’s Cable Mentoring program and she happily mentors many others in the media industry. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, leading an active and healthy lifestyle, and consuming the latest and greatest content in the TV and film space.
