On June 21, 2006 Jeanne McHale Waite was named Head of Production for Atlas Media’s multi-million dollar, state of the art production operation in New York City. Atlas ranks among the world’s leading independent producers of non-fiction television, specializing in documentary, reality, lifestyle, and docudrama programs distributed to more than 100 markets worldwide.
Previously Jeanne served as CEO and COO of Philadelphia’s largest independent TV production company, Banyan Productions. During Jeanne’s 6 years in these top posts, Banyan grew to three divisions employing several hundred people. Banyan has produced more than 3,000 episodes of television, recently including TLC’s hit series Trading Spaces, the nationally syndicated Ambush Makeover, children’s series Hi-Jinks on Nick @ Nite and Trading Spaces: Boys vs Girls on NBC, Design Invasion on the Fox television stations, Epicurious on the Travel Channel, and a number of programs for Discovery Health, DIYand TLC.
Jeanne joined Banyan in 1996 as executive producer of an international travel series for the Discovery Channel, and then served as the company’s Director of Programming for 2 years. She started in local television, rising from intern to executive producer at the CBS-owned television station in Philadelphia.
Jeanne has received 11 regional Emmys, two Tellys, the Women in Communications award, a Gabriel and other awards. She is a past Governor of the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Jeanne did graduate work in management at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a BA in communications from Temple University. She is married and has three children.
