Dina R. Melchiorre is director of communications and marketing, March of Dimes Northern Region. She first joined the foundation three years ago in Philadelphia, and was eventually promoted to the March of Dimes regional office in Westborough Massachusetts where she serves as staff liaison to the National Youth Council.
After graduating from Temple in ’94 with a bachelor’s degree in communications/radio television & film and minors in both public relations and political science, Melchiorre worked with the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA). There, she held education forums, organized an author lecture series, and launched and produced a local cable interview program working closely with a volunteer board of directors to help educate the public about learning Disabilities.
As a freelance news correspondence for Berks-Montgomery News (1995-2001) Melchiorre began working with the Community Prevention Partnership of Berks County (CPPBC) on a media literacy program, Building Resiliency Through Media and Culture, and was promoted to director of community-based programs in 1999.
Since 1998, Melchiorre has written for the editorial staff of national trade magazines for nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals distributed by NEWS-Line Publishing in King of Prussia.
She has shared her passion for improving the lives of children and has been recognized as a mentor for youth leaders and for her own volunteer activities. She will include the 2004 Temple School of Communications and Theater Hall of Fame induction among her most proud accomplishments with heartfelt thanks to her own mentors and the faculty of Temple University’s School of Communications and Theater.
