Bruce Crawley is president and principal owner of Crawley Haskins Sloan, a Philadelphia-based public relations and advertising agency. In recent years, the firm has been ranked as one of the 20 largest African-American-owned advertising agencies in America.
Prior to establishing his own firm In 1989, Crawley was employed at First Pennsylvania Bank, where he was senior vice president and director of public and investor relations. He also served for three years as the bank’s advertising director.
An accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Crawley is also a past president of the National Association of Urban Bankers. Active for years in the Philadelphia hospitality industry, Crawley served for five years as chairman of the board of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau. He was also a co-founder of the Convention Bureau’s Multicultural Affairs Congress.
Crawley holds a B.S. degree in marketing management from St. Joseph’s University and a master’s degree in Journalism from Temple University.
He serves on the boards of the Fairmount Park Conservancy, Independence Blue Cross, the Art Sanctuary, the Haub School of Business at St. Joseph’s University, and is a founding member of the Greater Philadelphia Global Partnership. Crawley is founder and chairman of the board of Philadelphia’s African-American Chamber, a former chair of the Urban League of Philadelphia and a former chair of Philadelphia UNCF Telethon.
Politically active Crawley has been a media consultant to numerous elected officials.
